Every “modern” teacher knows that teaching requires a non-zero amount of entertainment in order for attention to be held. Entertainment, on the other hand, requires no teaching for the viewer’s attention to be held, although it often results in a more moving experience for the consumer.
For the consumer, it is definitely worth their time to determine whether that thing which they are consuming is teaching, or entertainment, because today’s producers are really, really great at convincing you that you are being taught when you are really just being entertained.

Cleaning Up Your Messes
There is a camper’s philosophy that “one should should leave the area cleaner than the state in which it was found”.
That is a beautiful philosophy because it doesn’t matter who made the mess, as the fact remains that the mess must be cleaned up.
Unless legal action is required, perhaps it is not even worth asking the question “Who made the mess?” and instead utilizing all resources to clean up the mess.

Milwaukee Data Science: Next Steps
The purpose of this Meetup is to provide a safe, pleasant, and convenient venue (physical and virtual) to facilitate the growth and nurturing of the Data Science community in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Since Data Science covers the entirety of all human endeavors, this group serves to facilitate dialogue and discussion between all realms of mastery. Strategic advisers, managers, investors, health-care administrators, and quantitative analysts will feel equally at home here, as will mathematicians, statisticians, ecologists, biologists, and social-scientists. All realms of mastery are invited and welcomed to join.
Given the limitless application of technology here, all members of the Information Technology field are welcomed to join. All roles are welcome ranging from technical (developers, architects, system and devops administrators) to project managers and business analysts.
Experts and neophytes with interest in particular languages, environments, frameworks, and technologies have a home here. Be it R, Python, Java, or Octave, there is a place for everyone to learn and share. Our doors are equally open to practitioners applying specific technological offerings for every industry and platform.
With a laid back approach open to all ideas, this group will reflect the contributions and participation of its members, in whatever form time and resources permit.
Markdown vignettes in R
If you somehow didn’t have a reason to look into r-markdown with knitr before,
then this is yet another really good one.
Use your space appropriately
When facing a decision of how to utilize space it is sometimes easy.
Choosing between allocating land for a water purification plant vs
a donut shop might not be an easy choice but it is an obvious one.
How then do we allocate our internal or mental space?
Inside us the space is limitless. Most of the time though we don’t feel that way.
Instead there seems to be little free space, and that results in a feeling of
being overwhelmed and unable to cope with life. That is normal and all humans
experience this phenomenon.
The good news is that we are in charge of our internal landscape. Even better,
it is always with us! We can tidy it up whenever wish. We can open up more space.
Perhaps it is more like discovering it then opening it up, because it is already there.
That new space can help to accommodate new investments, like learning how to knit
for example. It may also simply be observed, and left alone. That is really
helpful for “making space” for all of the surprise trials that inevitably will
occur in life. Usually they aren’t very surprising though, given the nature of
this reality. Nonetheless, it makes everything easier when you have a lot of
room to breathe!
Do less to do more
Do less to do more.
It does result in doing more! You just aren’t spread so thin.
It is the only reasonable approach.

Insufficient sleep results in cognitive fatigue.
Insufficient hydration and sustenance results in physcial fatigue.
Insufficient physical strength and cardiovascular investment/exercise results in both.
Cognitive and physical fatigue seem to hamper the practice of meditation and generally contribute to having a “bad day”.

She now must take her rest for the winter.
Perhaps a tad early, but it is for the best.

De-invent don't re-invent!
The common goal humans undertake is to reinvent themselves.
Don’t!
You were sent to this Earth perfect.
Abandon all the limiting ideas about yourself that you invented during your time
here so that you may return to the perfect human being that you truly are.
