Out of the box a lot of us Windows users who added all of the Octave-Forge packages are disappointed to find that the plot function produces an invisible window.
Here is the problem and solution:
Realistic solution at this moment, do not install the oct2mat package when you install octave with octave-forge packages if you do not use this package. One one of different solutions is to execute
pkg rebuild -noauto oct2mat
at the octave prompt and then restart octave. The operation results in the oct2mat package not to be auto-loaded in startup. When you want to use oct2mat, execute “pkg load oct2mat” command.
(via octave-forge, via octave-bugs)
Thanks! Quite an annoyance…
Thank you! Solved my problem
Thank you, y had the same problem under win XP with octave 3.6.1, I tried your solution and all working now.
We’ve just stayed at the Forge from the 11th to 24th June 2012. Absolute heeavn !! As we’ve just married, it was great to sit and chill after all the running around we’d done. The Forge was amazing with breakfasts on the balcony, listening to the crickets and goats. We made full use of the BBQ and bought fresh fruit and veg from the Tuesday market in Fethiye, (a must to visit), along with honey and olive oil from the old man on the side of the road. We visited Kadyanda and Tlos ; both worth the trip. The locals in Kinali Village where the cottages are were really friendly. We ate at Billy’s ( Skyline) round the corner, which was great, if not a bit expensive. Eser and Michelle’s place, Caspers Bar, by the little roundabout in Kaya Viallage does amazing Meze. Eser speaks good English, and will happily sit and drink raki with you !!We didn’t want to leave The Forge .. a peaceful haven in this noisy world. We certainly will be back as soon as possible, we would recommend Sakli Vadi and the Kaya Valley to anyone. A big thank you to Jon and Sandy for making us feel welcome, see you again soon we hope !
