Seemingly without much fanfair, SCOOP is released with Eiffel here. Wow.
Hopefully I’m not the only one who finds this exciting.
A while back Eiffel Software (formerly ISE) held a contest to come up with a slogan for one of their products, EiffelStudio.
EiffelStudio: A Contract for Success
— Grant Rettke
They gave me a one-year license for EiffelStudio in return for signing away the slogan.
It was worth it… it is a great language!
Larry shares them in a decent post here.
Here is a nice way to inherit comments in Eiffel.
Javadoc’s pointer syntax isn’t too bad, either :).
Check it out here; Eiffel on Haiku!
Here is an article explaining Eiffel’s new for-each-like syntax.
It is pretty interesting to see how the language evolves… obviously a very different approach then the Lisp-ish “just add the syntax you need” approach.
Changed the title as I meant ‘for-each’ and not ‘map’.
EiffelVision seems to have finally gone native for OS X.
